It has the capability to assist users in creating text, answering questions, and providing valuable insights on a range of topics. While AI technology brings many positive advancements in various industries, there are also concerns around the ethical implications of AI and how it is used.

Many are concerned with the threat ChatGPT holds to different careers and industries. Indy 100 lists 5 different career paths that are most threatened by this AI “teachers, finance, software engineering, journalism and even graphic design”. There are arguments as to why human bodies are important in each of these fields. However, this AI threatens many people within these careers. For example in the career of teaching, AI could bring automated grading, creation of lesson plans, and even personalized learning plans. Although all of these automated skills that AI could bring to the table in this career is powerful, having a teacher who can showcase empathy and human emotions is essential in the teaching realm.

  While we can see the benefits ChatGPT’s AI could bring, the ethical dilemma must be raised again through the idea of how important human skills, creativity and emotions are in a specific industry. Using ChatGPT as a method of critical thinking can completely change the negative effects of this tool, turning it into a resource rather than a cheat.
